Importance of data backups

During all the filming, I have tried to keep on top of the data backups, but unfortunately there have been some issues with memory cards during the project.

In transferring some data files from cards to computers, there have been instances of data corruption, which has meant that we have lost a couple of the interviews, most notably from Thieving Harry's and Fruit Trade Music. Data from the original interview with Oresome Gallery was also an early casualty.

I have managed though to recover the Oresome interview by the use of the EaseUS Data Recovery software.

This software looks deep within a hard drive, USB stick or memory card to see if anything can be salvaged, and thankfully, after buying the software for 40 pounds, I have managed to save the two initial files so that it can be used in the final product.

A valuable lesson learnt, and I now have software in case this happens again.
