As a project, the group have produced work that is of a very good standard, culminating in a professional website, 20 minutes of high quality and original content from an area of Hull seeing massive regeneration.
The people and businesses of the area have been more than helpful in terms of the level of support that they have given to us, and the team will be revisiting the area to make further documentaries in the future.
We as a team have utilised our strengths to make an overall product that shows that members of the team could use this project as evidence of their skills going forwards into the final year of the degree, and also as part of their professional portfolio of work.
It has been a project with its challenges, but ultimately the final product is something that will live on and is a testament to the hard work of individuals, and a cohesive team.
The team hope that they have done the Fruit Market area proud of the overall product, and that we have shown the positives of the area, rather than focus on the negative attitude from some areas of the media.
Our next challenge is to get the word out to the people of Hull, and the wider world, that Humber Street is still open for business.
The group feel that further work can, and should be done for the Fruit Market, by way of thanks for the generosity of the people of Humber Street and the wider Marina area.
I cannot praise more highly the dedication and commitment to the project by the traders of the Marina, who have welcomed us with open arms, as we are showcasing them, and the fact that we are trying to keep their area alive, even with all the work going on.
It has been a huge learning curve for some members of the team, in terms of technology, commitment, and personal development, and I hope that they can use the experience to become more actively journalists, utilising their strengths and working on their weaknesses.
We as a team are very proud of the final outcome, and we are now at a point where shoeboxproductions.co.uk can be shown to the world, with a great range of high quality content.
Our final product is:
An 8 minute video of the Fruit Market area, with 3 interviews of businesses in the area.
A 39 second out-takes video as per our brief, which we feel is something that adds to the project, rather than detracting.
An 11 minute extra content video, which will be utilised as additional content, but also live as an individual product.
Around 200 photos of the area in its current state.
A professional looking website that pulls all the content together and that we are happy to give to the people of the Fruit Market so that they can share with their clients and customers as a marketing tool.
